The Guide Who Got Turned Around

Gustav leads walking tours through the old town every day. Today he takes a small group down a new street. Workers block the road. Gustav turns another way.

Gustav guia passeios a pé pela cidade velha todos os dias. Hoje ele leva um pequeno grupo por uma rua nova. Operários bloqueiam a rua. Gustav vira em outra direção.

He leads the group down new, quiet streets. The streets twist and turn in every direction. Gustav checks his own map, but it looks different here.

Ele leva o grupo por ruas novas e tranquilas. As ruas se torcem e viram em todas as direções. Gustav confere seu próprio mapa, mas aqui tudo parece diferente.

Rae, one of the tourists, notices his confused face. "Are we lost?" Rae asks with a small laugh.

Rae, uma das turistas, percebe o rosto confuso dele. "Estamos perdidos?" Rae pergunta com uma risadinha.

"A little," Gustav says. "This is new for me too."

"Um pouco", diz Gustav. "Isso é novo pra mim também."

Rae opens the map app on her phone. "I saved this area yesterday," she says.

Rae abre o aplicativo de mapa no celular. "Salvei essa área ontem", ela diz.

She shows Gustav the blue dot on her screen. "Turn left at the next corner," she tells him.

Ela mostra a Gustav o ponto azul na tela. "Vire à esquerda na próxima esquina", ela diz a ele.

Gustav follows her directions down the narrow street. The group turns left and finds the main square again.

Gustav segue as instruções dela pela rua estreita. O grupo vira à esquerda e encontra a praça principal de novo.

"There's the fountain," Gustav says, and laughs.

"Ali está a fonte", diz Gustav, e ri.

"I think I know this street now too," Rae says.

"Acho que agora eu também conheço essa rua", diz Rae.

Gustav laughs and thanks her for the help. The group claps and continues the tour together.

Gustav ri e agradece a ela pela ajuda. O grupo aplaude e continua o passeio juntos.
