The Guide Who Got Turned Around

Gustav leads walking tours through the old town every day. Today he takes a small group down a new street. Workers block the road. Gustav turns another way.

गुस्ताव हर दिन पुराने शहर में पैदल सैर कराता है। आज वह एक छोटे समूह को एक नई गली में ले जाता है। मज़दूरों ने सड़क रोक रखी है। गुस्ताव दूसरी ओर मुड़ जाता है।

He leads the group down new, quiet streets. The streets twist and turn in every direction. Gustav checks his own map, but it looks different here.

वह समूह को नई, शांत गलियों से ले जाता है। गलियाँ हर दिशा में घूमती और मुड़ती हैं। गुस्ताव अपना नक़्शा देखता है, पर यहाँ वह अलग दिखता है।

Rae, one of the tourists, notices his confused face. "Are we lost?" Rae asks with a small laugh.

पर्यटकों में से एक, रे, उसके उलझन भरे चेहरे को देख लेती है। "क्या हम खो गए हैं?" रे हल्की हँसी के साथ पूछती है।

"A little," Gustav says. "This is new for me too."

"थोड़ा-सा," गुस्ताव कहता है। "यह मेरे लिए भी नया है।"

Rae opens the map app on her phone. "I saved this area yesterday," she says.

रे अपने फ़ोन में मैप ऐप खोलती है। "मैंने कल इस इलाक़े को सेव कर लिया था," वह कहती है।

She shows Gustav the blue dot on her screen. "Turn left at the next corner," she tells him.

वह गुस्ताव को अपनी स्क्रीन पर नीला बिंदु दिखाती है। "अगले कोने से बाएँ मुड़िए," वह उससे कहती है।

Gustav follows her directions down the narrow street. The group turns left and finds the main square again.

गुस्ताव उसके बताए रास्ते पर तंग गली में चलता है। समूह बाएँ मुड़ता है और फिर मुख्य चौक पर पहुँच जाता है।

"There's the fountain," Gustav says, and laughs.

"वह रहा फ़व्वारा," गुस्ताव कहता है और हँस पड़ता है।

"I think I know this street now too," Rae says.

"मुझे भी अब यह गली जानी-पहचानी लग रही है," रे कहती है।

Gustav laughs and thanks her for the help. The group claps and continues the tour together.

गुस्ताव हँसता है और मदद के लिए उसे धन्यवाद देता है। समूह तालियाँ बजाता है और सब साथ मिलकर सैर जारी रखते हैं।
