The Museum Robot Guide

Ezio takes a tour at the science museum. The museum has a new robot guide. It is tall and white. It has a round face and a blue light on its head.

Ezio hace un recorrido en el museo de ciencias. El museo tiene un nuevo robot guía. Es alto y blanco. Tiene una cara redonda y una luz azul en la cabeza.

"Please follow my light," the robot says in a flat voice.

«Por favor, sigan mi luz», dice el robot con voz monótona.

Ten people follow the robot through the planet room. They pass the magnet table. In the space room, the robot stops under a huge rocket.

Diez personas siguen al robot por la sala de los planetas. Pasan junto a la mesa de los imanes. En la sala del espacio, el robot se detiene debajo de un cohete enorme.

"Welcome to the space room. Here you can see the biggest rocket in the…"

«Bienvenidos a la sala del espacio. Aquí pueden ver el cohete más grande del…».

The robot stops. Its blue light goes out. Its arms stay in the air.

El robot se detiene. Su luz azul se apaga. Sus brazos se quedan en el aire.

Everyone waits. A man taps the robot's arm. Nothing happens.

Todos esperan. Un hombre le da unos golpecitos en el brazo al robot. No pasa nada.

"I think its battery is dead," says Ezio. He looks around for a staff member, but nobody is there.

«Creo que se le acabó la batería», dice Ezio. Busca con la mirada a alguien del personal, pero no hay nadie.

A girl of nine raises her hand. Her name is Ruth. "I know every room in this museum," she says. "I come here every Saturday with my grandmother. I can finish the tour."

Una niña de nueve años levanta la mano. Se llama Ruth. «Conozco todas las salas de este museo», dice. «Vengo aquí todos los sábados con mi abuela. Puedo terminar el recorrido».

Ezio looks at the others. "Why not?" he says.

Ezio mira a los demás. «¿Por qué no?», dice.

Ruth walks to the front. She tells them how the rocket flew. At the magnet table, she shows them a trick. Two magnets push each other away if you hold them right. In the last room, she knows the best place for a photo.

Ruth camina hasta el frente. Les cuenta cómo voló el cohete. En la mesa de los imanes, les muestra un truco. Dos imanes se empujan entre sí si los sostienes bien. En la última sala, sabe cuál es el mejor lugar para una foto.

At the end, a woman in a museum shirt hears the story. She gives Ruth a badge that says "Guide of the Day." Ruth pins it on her coat.

Al final, una mujer con una camiseta del museo oye la historia. Le da a Ruth una insignia que dice «Guía del día». Ruth se la prende en el abrigo.

Behind them, the robot's light comes on again. "Welcome to the museum," it says. "Please follow my light."

Detrás de ellos, la luz del robot se enciende otra vez. «Bienvenidos al museo», dice. «Por favor, sigan mi luz».

Nobody follows it.

Nadie la sigue.
