On her first day at a new school, Maya and her friend Theo each wait in the wrong science room before finally finding each other.

It is Maya's first day at a new school. She has a map and a class schedule. Her friend Theo goes to the same school.
É o primeiro dia de Maya em uma nova escola. Ela tem um mapa e um horário de aulas. Seu amigo Theo estuda na mesma escola.
Before class, Maya sends Theo a text. "Let's meet at the science room," she writes. Theo replies, "Okay, see you there!"
Antes da aula, Maya manda uma mensagem para Theo. "Vamos nos encontrar na sala de ciências", ela escreve. Theo responde: "Combinado, te vejo lá!"
Maya walks to the science room in the old building. She waits by the door, but Theo does not come. She checks her phone. No new messages.
Maya vai até a sala de ciências no prédio antigo. Ela espera perto da porta, mas Theo não aparece. Ela olha o celular. Nenhuma mensagem nova.
Theo is waiting too, but in a different room. The school has two science rooms. One room is old, and one is new. Theo is standing outside the new room.
Theo também está esperando, mas em outra sala. A escola tem duas salas de ciências. Uma sala é antiga, e a outra é nova. Theo está parado do lado de fora da sala nova.
After ten minutes, Maya starts to worry. She walks around the school to look for Theo. She checks the library, the gym, and the hallway near the office.
Depois de dez minutos, Maya começa a se preocupar. Ela caminha pela escola procurando Theo. Ela verifica a biblioteca, a quadra e o corredor perto da secretaria.
Finally, she sees a boy near the new building. It is Theo! He waves and runs toward her.
Finalmente, ela vê um garoto perto do prédio novo. É o Theo! Ele acena e corre até ela.
"I was waiting in the wrong room," Theo says. "There are two science rooms here."
"Eu estava esperando na sala errada", diz Theo. "Tem duas salas de ciências aqui."
"Me too!" Maya says, and they both laugh. "Next time, let's use room numbers instead."
"Eu também!", diz Maya, e os dois riem. "Da próxima vez, vamos usar os números das salas."
They walk into their first class together, just in time. The teacher smiles and points to two empty seats near the window.
Eles entram juntos na primeira aula, bem na hora. O professor sorri e aponta para duas cadeiras vazias perto da janela.
"Welcome," the teacher says. "Please sit down and open your books."
"Bem-vindos", diz o professor. "Sentem-se e abram os livros."
Maya and Theo sit down together and open their new books.
Maya e Theo se sentam juntos e abrem os livros novos.
