Adrian had a new smart mirror in his bathroom. Every morning, it told him the weather and the time. He liked it because it was simple and quiet.
Adrian tinha um novo espelho inteligente no banheiro. Toda manhã, ele dizia a previsão do tempo e as horas. Ele gostava porque era simples e silencioso.
One Saturday, his sister Stella came to stay for the weekend. She loved gadgets and always wanted to try new settings.
Em um sábado, sua irmã Stella veio passar o fim de semana. Ela adorava gadgets e sempre queria experimentar novas configurações.
On Sunday morning, Adrian stood in front of the mirror. "Good morning," said the mirror. "That shirt is an interesting choice today."
No domingo de manhã, Adrian ficou em frente ao espelho. "Bom dia", disse o espelho. "Essa camisa é uma escolha interessante hoje."
Adrian stopped and looked at the screen. "What did you say?"
Adrian parou e olhou para a tela. "O que você disse?"
"I said your shirt is interesting," the mirror said again. "Also, your hair looks a little wild this morning."
"Eu disse que sua camisa é interessante", repetiu o espelho. "Além disso, seu cabelo está um pouco bagunçado esta manhã."
Adrian frowned. "This mirror never talked like this before."
Adrian franziu a testa. "Este espelho nunca falou assim antes."
He walked to the kitchen and found Stella at the table. "Did you do something to my mirror?" he asked.
Ele foi até a cozinha e encontrou Stella na mesa. "Você fez alguma coisa no meu espelho?", ele perguntou.
Stella smiled. "I found a joke mode in the settings last night. I turned it on for fun."
Stella sorriu. "Eu encontrei um modo de piadas nas configurações ontem à noite. Eu liguei por diversão."
"Please turn it off," Adrian said. "I don't need comments before coffee."
"Por favor, desligue isso", disse Adrian. "Eu não preciso de comentários antes do café."
Stella laughed and went back to the bathroom. She opened the mirror's app and pressed a button. The joke mode turned off.
Stella riu e voltou para o banheiro. Ela abriu o aplicativo do espelho e apertou um botão. O modo de piadas foi desligado.
The next morning, Adrian stood in front of the mirror again.
Na manhã seguinte, Adrian ficou em frente ao espelho de novo.
"Good morning," said the mirror. "It is seven o'clock and sunny outside."
"Bom dia", disse o espelho. "São sete horas e está ensolarado lá fora."
Adrian smiled and picked up his toothbrush. Quiet mornings were back.
Adrian sorriu e pegou sua escova de dentes. As manhãs silenciosas tinham voltado.
