The Bike Path That Splits

Deniz and Hana ride their bikes along the river on Saturday morning. The sun is warm and the air feels fresh.

देनिज़ और हाना शनिवार की सुबह नदी के किनारे साइकिल चला रहे हैं। धूप गुनगुनी है और हवा ताज़ी लग रही है।

After twenty minutes, the path splits into two directions. A sign shows two arrows.

बीस मिनट बाद रास्ता दो दिशाओं में बँट जाता है। एक बोर्ड पर दो तीर बने हैं।

One arrow points along the flat river path. The other points up into the hills.

एक तीर नदी के किनारे वाले समतल रास्ते की ओर इशारा करता है। दूसरा ऊपर पहाड़ियों की ओर।

"The river path is long, but it's flat and easy," Hana says.

"नदी वाला रास्ता लंबा है, लेकिन समतल और आसान है," हाना कहती है।

"The hill path is short," Deniz says, "but it looks steep."

"पहाड़ी वाला रास्ता छोटा है," देनिज़ कहता है, "लेकिन वह खड़ी चढ़ाई वाला लगता है।"

They stop and look at both paths for a minute. Hana checks the time on her phone.

वे रुककर एक मिनट दोनों रास्तों को देखते हैं। हाना अपने फ़ोन पर समय देखती है।

"Let's try the hills," Hana says. "We have time, and I want to see the view."

"चलो पहाड़ियों वाला रास्ता आज़माते हैं," हाना कहती है। "हमारे पास समय है, और मुझे नज़ारा देखना है।"

Deniz agrees, and they turn onto the hill path together. The road climbs quickly between the trees.

देनिज़ मान जाता है और वे दोनों साथ पहाड़ी वाले रास्ते पर मुड़ जाते हैं। सड़क पेड़ों के बीच से तेज़ी से ऊपर चढ़ती है।

Their legs get tired, but they keep going. After ten minutes, they reach the top of the hill.

उनकी टाँगें थक जाती हैं, लेकिन वे चलते रहते हैं। दस मिनट बाद वे पहाड़ी की चोटी पर पहुँच जाते हैं।

Below them, the whole valley spreads out. The river looks like a thin blue line.

उनके नीचे पूरी घाटी फैली हुई है। नदी एक पतली नीली लकीर जैसी दिखती है।

"This is worth it," Deniz says.

"यह मेहनत वाक़ई कामयाब रही," देनिज़ कहता है।

Hana takes a photo of the view. They sit on a rock and share their water bottle.

हाना नज़ारे की एक तस्वीर लेती है। वे एक चट्टान पर बैठकर अपनी पानी की बोतल साझा करते हैं।
