Nadia left work quickly on a rainy afternoon. She grabbed an umbrella from the stand by the door.
Nadia saiu do trabalho rapidamente em uma tarde chuvosa. Ela pegou um guarda-chuva do suporte perto da porta.
She opened it outside and walked to the bus stop. The umbrella kept her dry all the way home.
Ela o abriu do lado de fora e caminhou até o ponto de ônibus. O guarda-chuva a manteve seca até em casa.
At home, Nadia looked at the umbrella closely. It was dark blue, not black like hers.

She saw small white letters near the handle. They spelled out "J.K."

Nadia's umbrella did not have any letters on it. She picked up the wrong one by mistake.

The next morning, she brought the blue umbrella back to the office. She put it back on the stand.

A coworker named Jonah walked over. "Did you see my umbrella?" he asked. "It's dark blue with my initials."

"I think I took it home by mistake," Nadia said. "I'm very sorry. Here it is."

Jonah smiled. "No problem. Rainy days confuse everyone's umbrellas."

Nadia found her own black umbrella under her desk. It was there the whole time.

She laughed and told Jonah the whole story. They both agreed to check umbrellas carefully next time.
