Every day, Georgia brought her lunch to work in a blue bag. She kept it in the office fridge until noon.
Todos os dias, Georgia levava seu almoço para o trabalho em uma sacola azul. Ela guardava a sacola na geladeira do escritório até o meio-dia.
On Monday, her lunch was gone. She checked the fridge twice, but the blue bag was not there.
Na segunda-feira, o almoço dela tinha sumido. Ela checou a geladeira duas vezes, mas a sacola azul não estava lá.
"Someone took my lunch," she said to her coworker Emeka. "I'm sure I put it in the fridge this morning."
"Alguém pegou meu almoço", ela disse ao seu colega de trabalho Emeka. "Tenho certeza de que coloquei na geladeira hoje de manhã."
Emeka opened the fridge and looked inside. "There's a blue bag here," he said, "but it's not yours. It has a different name on it."
Emeka abriu a geladeira e olhou lá dentro. "Tem uma sacola azul aqui", ele disse, "mas não é sua. Tem outro nome escrito nela."
Georgia looked again. The bag said "Georgina" in small letters.
Georgia olhou de novo. A sacola dizia "Georgina" em letras pequenas.
"That's not my name," she said. "But it looks just like my bag."
"Esse não é meu nome", ela disse. "Mas é igualzinha à minha sacola."
On Tuesday, the same thing happened again. Georgia's lunch was gone again. A similar blue bag with the name "Georgina" sat in its place.
Na terça-feira, a mesma coisa aconteceu de novo. O almoço de Georgia tinha sumido outra vez. Uma sacola azul parecida com o nome "Georgina" estava no lugar dela.
"There are two blue bags in this office," Emeka said. "You and Georgina both use the same kind."
"Tem duas sacolas azuis neste escritório", disse Emeka. "Você e a Georgina usam o mesmo tipo."
They found Georgina at a desk across the building. She laughed when she heard the story.
Eles encontraram Georgina em uma mesa do outro lado do prédio. Ela riu quando ouviu a história.
"I grab the first blue bag I see," Georgina said. "I never check the name."
"Eu pego a primeira sacola azul que vejo", disse Georgina. "Nunca confiro o nome."
"Let's write our names in big letters next time," Georgia said.
"Vamos escrever nossos nomes em letras grandes da próxima vez", disse Georgia.
From that day, Georgia wrote her name in bright red letters. No lunch ever disappeared again.
A partir daquele dia, Georgia escreveu seu nome em letras vermelhas bem vivas. Nenhum almoço nunca mais sumiu.
