Felix leaves for school in the morning. The sky looks gray and cloudy. His mom says, "Take your umbrella!"
फ़ेलिक्स सुबह स्कूल के लिए निकलता है। आसमान धूसर और बादलों से भरा है। उसकी मम्मी कहती हैं, "अपनी छतरी ले जाओ!"
"I don't need it," Felix says. He walks out the door fast. He forgets his umbrella.
"मुझे इसकी ज़रूरत नहीं है," फ़ेलिक्स कहता है। वह तेज़ी से दरवाज़े से बाहर निकल जाता है। वह अपनी छतरी भूल जाता है।
The school day goes by quickly. Felix studies, eats lunch, and talks with friends. He does not think about the sky.
स्कूल का दिन जल्दी बीत जाता है। फ़ेलिक्स पढ़ता है, लंच करता है और दोस्तों से बातें करता है। उसे आसमान का ख़याल ही नहीं आता।
School ends. Felix walks outside. Big drops of rain fall on his head. The rain gets heavier every minute.
स्कूल की छुट्टी होती है। फ़ेलिक्स बाहर निकलता है। बारिश की बड़ी-बड़ी बूँदें उसके सिर पर गिरती हैं। बारिश हर मिनट तेज़ होती जाती है।
Felix has no umbrella and no jacket. He starts to walk home fast. His clothes get wet very quickly.
फ़ेलिक्स के पास न छतरी है, न जैकेट। वह तेज़ी से घर की ओर चलने लगता है। उसके कपड़े बहुत जल्दी भीग जाते हैं।
He passes a small shop on the corner. The shop sells umbrellas in the window. Felix stops and goes inside.
वह कोने की एक छोटी दुकान के पास से गुज़रता है। दुकान की खिड़की में छतरियाँ बिक रही हैं। फ़ेलिक्स रुक जाता है और अंदर जाता है।
"How much is that blue umbrella?" he asks.
"वह नीली छतरी कितने की है?" वह पूछता है।
"Just four dollars," the shop owner says.
"सिर्फ़ चार डॉलर की," दुकानदार कहता है।
Felix takes out his money and pays. He opens the new umbrella outside. The rain stops hitting his head.
फ़ेलिक्स अपने पैसे निकालकर देता है। वह नई छतरी बाहर आकर खोलता है। बारिश अब उसके सिर पर नहीं गिरती।
He walks the rest of the way home. The umbrella keeps him dry. Felix thinks about his mom's words.
वह बाक़ी रास्ता पैदल तय करता है। छतरी उसे सूखा रखती है। फ़ेलिक्स को अपनी मम्मी की बात याद आती है।
He opens the front door and steps inside. "I bought an umbrella," he tells his mom.
वह घर का दरवाज़ा खोलकर अंदर आता है। "मैंने एक छतरी ख़रीद ली," वह अपनी मम्मी से कहता है।
His mom laughs. "Next time, listen to me," she says.
उसकी मम्मी हँस पड़ती हैं। "अगली बार मेरी बात सुनना," वे कहती हैं।
