The Forgotten Umbrella

Felix leaves for school in the morning. The sky looks gray and cloudy. His mom says, "Take your umbrella!"

Felix berangkat ke sekolah pada pagi hari. Langit tampak kelabu dan berawan. Ibunya berkata, "Bawa payungmu!"

"I don't need it," Felix says. He walks out the door fast. He forgets his umbrella.

"Aku tidak perlu," kata Felix. Ia berjalan keluar pintu dengan cepat. Ia lupa membawa payungnya.

The school day goes by quickly. Felix studies, eats lunch, and talks with friends. He does not think about the sky.

Hari sekolah berlalu dengan cepat. Felix belajar, makan siang, dan mengobrol dengan teman-temannya. Ia tidak memikirkan langit.

School ends. Felix walks outside. Big drops of rain fall on his head. The rain gets heavier every minute.

Sekolah usai. Felix berjalan keluar. Tetes-tetes besar air hujan jatuh di kepalanya. Hujan makin deras setiap menit.

Felix has no umbrella and no jacket. He starts to walk home fast. His clothes get wet very quickly.

Felix tidak punya payung dan tidak punya jaket. Ia mulai berjalan pulang dengan cepat. Pakaiannya cepat sekali basah.

He passes a small shop on the corner. The shop sells umbrellas in the window. Felix stops and goes inside.

Ia melewati sebuah toko kecil di sudut jalan. Toko itu menjual payung di etalasenya. Felix berhenti dan masuk.

"How much is that blue umbrella?" he asks.

"Berapa harga payung biru itu?" tanyanya.

"Just four dollars," the shop owner says.

"Hanya empat dolar," kata pemilik toko.

Felix takes out his money and pays. He opens the new umbrella outside. The rain stops hitting his head.

Felix mengeluarkan uangnya dan membayar. Ia membuka payung barunya di luar. Hujan tidak lagi mengenai kepalanya.

He walks the rest of the way home. The umbrella keeps him dry. Felix thinks about his mom's words.

Ia berjalan sisa perjalanan pulang. Payung itu menjaganya tetap kering. Felix teringat kata-kata ibunya.

He opens the front door and steps inside. "I bought an umbrella," he tells his mom.

Ia membuka pintu depan dan melangkah masuk. "Aku beli payung," katanya kepada ibunya.

His mom laughs. "Next time, listen to me," she says.

Ibunya tertawa. "Lain kali, dengarkan Ibu," katanya.
