Hazel usually keeps her backpack very organized. Tonight, her chemistry book was simply not there. She felt a little worried at first.
हेज़ल आमतौर पर अपना बैग बहुत सलीक़े से रखती है। आज रात उसकी केमिस्ट्री की किताब बैग में थी ही नहीं। शुरू में वह थोड़ी चिंतित हो गई।
Hazel forgot her chemistry textbook at home. Her test was the next morning. She needed to study that night.
हेज़ल अपनी केमिस्ट्री की पाठ्यपुस्तक घर पर भूल गई थी। उसका टेस्ट अगली सुबह था। उसे उसी रात पढ़ना था।
She called her classmate Delphine. "Can I borrow your textbook?" she asked. "I need it just for tonight."
उसने अपनी सहपाठी डेल्फ़ीन को फ़ोन किया। "क्या मैं तुम्हारी किताब उधार ले सकती हूँ?" उसने पूछा। "मुझे बस आज रात के लिए चाहिए।"
Delphine agreed but had one condition. "I need it back by eight," she said. "I also have an early test."
डेल्फ़ीन मान गई, पर उसकी एक शर्त थी। "मुझे यह आठ बजे तक वापस चाहिए," उसने कहा। "मेरा भी कल सुबह जल्दी टेस्ट है।"
Hazel rode her bike to Delphine's house. She picked up the heavy textbook. She thanked Delphine and rode straight home.
हेज़ल साइकिल से डेल्फ़ीन के घर गई। उसने वह भारी किताब ली। उसने डेल्फ़ीन को धन्यवाद दिया और सीधे घर लौट आई।
She studied for three hours that night. She wrote notes on every important page. She packed the textbook in her bag.
उस रात वह तीन घंटे पढ़ती रही। उसने हर ज़रूरी पन्ने पर नोट्स लिखे। फिर उसने किताब अपने बैग में रख ली।
The next morning, she woke up early. She rode to school before the first bell. She found Delphine by the lockers.
अगली सुबह वह जल्दी उठी। वह पहली घंटी से पहले साइकिल से स्कूल पहुँच गई। उसे डेल्फ़ीन लॉकरों के पास मिल गई।
"Here's your book," Hazel said. "Thank you very much for this." Delphine smiled and took it back quickly.

"Good luck on your test," Delphine said. Hazel walked into her classroom and smiled.

She sat down and opened her test booklet. She remembered every page from the night before.
