Elena started working at the city library three years ago. She knows almost every shelf very well. Today, she opens the library at nine o'clock.
Elena empezó a trabajar en la biblioteca municipal hace tres años. Conoce casi todos los estantes muy bien. Hoy abre la biblioteca a las nueve en punto.
An older man walks in a few minutes later. He looks a little lost, so Elena walks over to help him.
Un hombre mayor entra unos minutos después. Se ve un poco perdido, así que Elena se acerca para ayudarlo.
"Good morning. Can I help you find something?" Elena asks.
«Buenos días. ¿Puedo ayudarlo a encontrar algo?», pregunta Elena.
"Yes, please," the man says. "I'm looking for a book, but I don't remember the title."
«Sí, por favor», dice el hombre. «Estoy buscando un libro, pero no recuerdo el título».
"That's okay," Elena says. "What is the book about?"
«No se preocupe», dice Elena. «¿De qué trata el libro?»
"It's about a sailor," the man says. "He gets lost at sea and finds a strange island. I read it years ago."
«Es sobre un marinero», dice el hombre. «Se pierde en el mar y encuentra una isla extraña. Lo leí hace años».
Elena thinks for a moment. She remembers a few old books about a sailor and an island.
Elena piensa un momento. Recuerda algunos libros antiguos sobre un marinero y una isla.
"I think I know which book you mean," she says. "Follow me, please."
«Creo que sé cuál libro es», dice ella. «Sígame, por favor».
She walks to the back of the library, past the history section. She stops at a tall shelf near the window.
Camina hacia el fondo de la biblioteca, pasando la sección de historia. Se detiene junto a un estante alto cerca de la ventana.
"Here it is," Elena says, pulling out an old blue book. "Is this the one?"
«Aquí está», dice Elena, sacando un viejo libro azul. «¿Es este?»
The man takes the book and looks at the cover. He smiles a big smile.
El hombre toma el libro y mira la portada. Sonríe con una gran sonrisa.
"Yes! This is it!" he says. "I can't believe you found it so fast."
«¡Sí! ¡Este es!», dice él. «No puedo creer que lo haya encontrado tan rápido».
"I read it myself, years ago," Elena says with a smile. "It's one of my favorites too."
«Yo también lo leí, hace años», dice Elena con una sonrisa. «También es uno de mis favoritos».
The man thanks her again. He walks to a table by the window.
El hombre le da las gracias de nuevo. Camina hacia una mesa junto a la ventana.
Elena returns to the front desk. She starts sorting the returned books.
Elena regresa al mostrador. Empieza a ordenar los libros devueltos.
