Leilani gets a big haircut on Saturday. Her hair is very short now. She loves it.
She walks home and stands at her front door. The door has a small camera. It knows her face and opens for her every day.
Today the door does not open. A red light turns on. "Face not known," says the door.
"It is me!" Leilani says. "I live here!"
The door says nothing. The light stays red.
She takes off her hat and tries again. The light stays red. She smiles a big smile. The light stays red.
She pulls her hair back with both hands. "Now do you know me?" she asks. "Face not known," says the door.
It is cold, and her bags are heavy. Leilani takes out her phone. She texts her brother. "My door does not know me. Help!"
He answers fast. "Ha! New hair? Use the code. It is 4815."
She types the numbers on the small pad. The door clicks and opens.
Inside, Leilani puts her bags down. She opens the door app. She presses "New face." Then she smiles at the camera.
