Ayla took the morning bus to work, as she did every day. The bus was almost empty. At the back, she saw a black case on a seat.
艾拉像每天一样，坐早班公交车去上班。车上几乎没有人。在后面，她看见座位上有一个黑色的琴盒。
She opened it a little. Inside was a violin. Nobody sat near it. A small label on the case said "Hill Street Music School."
她把它打开了一点。里面是一把小提琴。附近没有人坐。琴盒上有一个小标签，写着“山丘街音乐学校”。
"Did anyone ask about a violin?" she asked the driver.
“有人来问过小提琴吗？”她问司机。
He shook his head. "Not today," he said.
他摇了摇头。“今天没有，”他说。
Ayla looked at her watch. She had thirty minutes before work. The school was only two stops away. "I will take it there," she said.
艾拉看了看手表。距离上班还有三十分钟。学校只隔两站。“我把它送过去，”她说。
She got off at the next stop and walked fast. The case was heavy, and her arm was tired. After ten minutes, she found a tall grey building.
她在下一站下了车，快步走着。琴盒很重，她的胳膊累了。十分钟后，她找到了一栋高高的灰色大楼。
At the front door, a young man ran out. His face was white. "Excuse me," he said. "Do you know where…" Then he saw the case, and he stopped.
在前门口，一个年轻男子跑了出来。他脸色发白。“打扰一下，”他说，“你知道哪里……”然后他看见了琴盒，话说到一半停住了。
"My violin!" he said. "I left it on the bus. My name is Nasser. I have an exam in one hour. I did not know what to do."
“我的小提琴！”他说，“我把它落在公交车上了。我叫纳赛尔。我一个小时后有考试。我不知道该怎么办。”
"Then you must hurry," Ayla said. She gave him the case.
“那你得抓紧了，”艾拉说。她把琴盒交给了他。
Nasser opened it and looked at the violin. His hands shook a little. "Thank you," he said. "Thank you so much. Please, tell me your name."
纳赛尔打开盒子，看着小提琴。他的手微微发抖。“谢谢你，”他说，“真的太感谢你了。请告诉我你的名字。”
"It's Ayla. Good luck, Nasser. Play well."
“我叫艾拉。祝你好运，纳赛尔。好好演奏。”
He ran back into the school. Ayla looked at her watch again. Now she was late for work, but she did not care. She turned around and ran for the next bus.
他跑回了学校。艾拉又看了看手表。现在她上班要迟到了，可她不在乎。她转过身，跑去赶下一班公交车。
