The Squeaky Door

Sami's bedroom door squeaked constantly. Opening it made a loud noise. Closing it made a loud noise too.

At night, the noise woke up his little sister. She complained about it every morning. Sami felt bad about the noise.

Vào ban đêm, tiếng ồn làm em gái nhỏ của cậu thức giấc. Em phàn nàn về điều đó mỗi buổi sáng. Sami cảm thấy có lỗi về tiếng ồn đó.

Sami wanted to fix the problem. He did not know how to start. He asked his father what to do.

Sami muốn khắc phục vấn đề này. Cậu không biết phải bắt đầu từ đâu. Cậu hỏi cha mình nên làm gì.

"Try some oil on the hinges," his father said. Sami looked in the garage for oil. He found an old oil can there.

"Hãy thử bôi chút dầu lên bản lề," cha cậu nói. Sami tìm dầu trong nhà để xe. Cậu tìm thấy một chai dầu cũ ở đó.

He opened his door very slowly. He put a few drops on each hinge. He moved the door back and forth gently.

Cậu mở cửa rất chậm. Cậu nhỏ vài giọt dầu lên mỗi bản lề. Cậu nhẹ nhàng đẩy cửa qua lại.

The oil worked into the metal parts. Sami wiped off the extra drops. He tried the door one more time.

Dầu thấm vào các bộ phận kim loại. Sami lau sạch những giọt dầu dư. Cậu thử cửa một lần nữa.

Sami opened and closed the door again. This time, there was no sound at all. He grinned at his quiet door.

Sami mở và đóng cửa lại lần nữa. Lần này, không có âm thanh nào cả. Cậu cười tươi với chiếc cửa im lặng của mình.

His little sister walked by and stopped. "It's quiet now," she said, surprised. She thanked him with a big smile.

Em gái nhỏ của cậu đi qua và dừng lại. "Giờ yên tĩnh rồi," em nói, ngạc nhiên. Em cảm ơn cậu với một nụ cười tươi.

Sami smiled and oiled the other doors too. Now the whole house was quiet. Everyone slept better that night.

Sami mỉm cười và bôi dầu cho những cánh cửa khác nữa. Giờ cả nhà đều yên tĩnh. Mọi người đều ngủ ngon hơn đêm đó.
