Peter wants to visit his sister in Riverton. He walks to the train station early in the morning.
Peter quer visitar a irmã dele em Riverton. Ele caminha até a estação de trem bem cedo pela manhã.
He goes to the ticket counter and waits in line. "One ticket to Riverton, please," he says.
Ele vai até o balcão de passagens e espera na fila. "Uma passagem para Riverton, por favor", ele diz.
The clerk types on her computer. She prints a ticket and hands it to him.
A atendente digita no computador. Ela imprime uma passagem e entrega a ele.
Peter pays for the ticket. He thanks the clerk and walks toward the platform.
Peter paga pela passagem. Ele agradece à atendente e caminha em direção à plataforma.
He waits for his train. He looks down at the ticket in his hand.
Ele espera pelo trem dele. Ele olha para a passagem na mão.
Peter stops. The ticket says "Lakeside," not "Riverton." He reads it again, but it still says Lakeside.
Peter para. A passagem diz "Lakeside", não "Riverton". Ele lê de novo, mas ainda diz Lakeside.
He walks back to the ticket counter. "Excuse me," he says. "This ticket is wrong."
Ele volta ao balcão de passagens. "Com licença", ele diz. "Esta passagem está errada."
"I asked for a ticket to Riverton," Peter explains. The clerk looks at the ticket.
"Eu pedi uma passagem para Riverton", Peter explica. A atendente olha a passagem.
"I'm sorry," she says. "I typed the wrong city. Let me print a new one."
"Sinto muito", ela diz. "Eu digitei a cidade errada. Deixe-me imprimir uma nova."
She types again and checks the screen twice. Then she prints a new ticket.
Ela digita de novo e confere a tela duas vezes. Então ela imprime uma nova passagem.
"Here is your ticket to Riverton," she says. Peter checks it carefully.
"Aqui está a sua passagem para Riverton", ela diz. Peter confere com cuidado.
The new ticket says "Riverton" now. Peter smiles and thanks the clerk.
A nova passagem diz "Riverton" agora. Peter sorri e agradece à atendente.
He walks back to the platform. The train to Riverton waits by the platform.
Ele volta para a plataforma. O trem para Riverton espera na plataforma.
Peter finds a seat by the window and sits down. He puts the old ticket in the trash can.
Peter encontra um assento perto da janela e se senta. Ele joga a passagem antiga no lixo.
Then he puts the new ticket safely in his bag. The train doors close, and the train starts to move.
Depois ele guarda a nova passagem com cuidado na bolsa. As portas do trem se fecham, e o trem começa a se mover.
