Pax wanted a surprise for his wife. Today was their anniversary. He wanted a night to remember.
Pax queria fazer uma surpresa para a esposa. Hoje era o aniversário de casamento deles. Ele queria uma noite inesquecível.
He booked a table at the Blue Fish. It was her favorite restaurant. He told no one about it.
Ele reservou uma mesa no Blue Fish. Era o restaurante favorito dela. Ele não contou a ninguém.
His wife had the same idea. She also wanted a surprise. She booked a table at the Red Lamp. She did not tell anyone.
A esposa teve a mesma ideia. Ela também queria fazer uma surpresa. Reservou uma mesa no Red Lamp. Não contou a ninguém.
At seven o'clock, Pax sat alone at the Blue Fish. He had flowers in his hands. The waiter brought him water. Pax waited.
Às sete horas, Pax estava sentado sozinho no Blue Fish. Tinha flores nas mãos. O garçom lhe trouxe água. Pax esperou.
At the Red Lamp, his wife sat alone too. She looked at the door many times. Nobody came.
No Red Lamp, a esposa dele também estava sentada sozinha. Ela olhava para a porta muitas vezes. Ninguém chegava.
After half an hour, Pax took out his phone. "Where are you?" he asked.
Depois de meia hora, Pax pegou o celular. "Onde você está?", perguntou.
"I am at the Red Lamp," she said. "Where are you?"
"Estou no Red Lamp", disse ela. "E você, onde está?"
"I am at the Blue Fish!" said Pax. Then he laughed. His wife laughed too.
"Estou no Blue Fish!", disse Pax. Então riu. A esposa também riu.
"Let's meet halfway," she said. "I see a park on the map."
"Vamos nos encontrar no meio do caminho", disse ela. "Vejo um parque no mapa."
Pax walked to the park with his flowers. His wife walked there with a small gift. They met by a big fountain.
Pax foi a pé até o parque com as flores. A esposa foi até lá com um pequeno presente. Eles se encontraram perto de uma grande fonte.
Near the fountain, a man sold hot noodles. His truck was small. The smell was wonderful. They bought two bowls and sat on a bench.
Perto da fonte, um homem vendia macarrão quente. O carrinho dele era pequeno. O cheiro era maravilhoso. Eles compraram duas tigelas e se sentaram num banco.
"Best anniversary ever," Pax said. His wife gave him the gift.
"O melhor aniversário de todos", disse Pax. A esposa lhe deu o presente.
