The Same Book on the Train

Every morning, Bjorn took the early train to work. He sat by the window and read a book.

हर सुबह ब्यॉर्न काम पर जाने के लिए सुबह की ट्रेन पकड़ता था। वह खिड़की के पास बैठता और किताब पढ़ता।

A woman sat across from him every day. She wore a red coat. She read a book too.

एक औरत रोज़ उसके सामने बैठती थी। वह लाल कोट पहनती थी। वह भी किताब पढ़ती थी।

One morning, Bjorn looked at her book. It was the same book as his. It had the same green cover.

एक सुबह ब्यॉर्न ने उसकी किताब देखी। वह उसकी अपनी किताब जैसी ही थी। उसका कवर भी वैसा ही हरा था।

He said nothing. He was shy. For two weeks, he only looked at his page.

उसने कुछ नहीं कहा। वह शर्मीला था। दो हफ़्ते तक वह बस अपने पन्ने को देखता रहा।

On Monday, her bookmark fell on the floor. It slid under his seat. Bjorn picked it up. It was a small paper star.

सोमवार को उसका बुकमार्क फ़र्श पर गिर गया। वह ब्यॉर्न की सीट के नीचे खिसक गया। ब्यॉर्न ने उसे उठाया। वह कागज़ का एक छोटा-सा सितारा था।

"This is yours," he said.

"यह आपका है," उसने कहा।

"Thank you," she said. Then she saw his book. "You read it too!"

"शुक्रिया," उसने कहा। फिर उसने ब्यॉर्न की किताब देखी। "आप भी यही किताब पढ़ रहे हैं!"

"Yes. I am near the end," Bjorn said.

"हाँ। मैं आख़िर के पास हूँ," ब्यॉर्न ने कहा।

"Me too. Do you like the ending?" she asked.

"मैं भी। आपको इसका अंत पसंद है?" उसने पूछा।

"I do," he said. "But I want a different one."

"हाँ," उसने कहा। "लेकिन मुझे कोई दूसरा अंत चाहिए।"

"Tell me yours," she said. Bjorn told her his idea. She listened and nodded. Then she told him hers.

"अपना वाला बताइए," उसने कहा। ब्यॉर्न ने उसे अपना विचार बताया। उसने सुना और सिर हिलाया। फिर उसने अपना वाला बताया।

They talked until the train stopped at his station. Bjorn got up and said goodbye.

वे तब तक बातें करते रहे जब तक ट्रेन उसके स्टेशन पर नहीं रुकी। ब्यॉर्न उठा और अलविदा कहा।

The next morning, he brought two cups of coffee. He sat down across from her and gave her one.

अगली सुबह वह दो कप कॉफ़ी लाया। वह उसके सामने बैठा और एक कप उसे दे दिया।
