The Picnic in the Car

Olu made sandwiches on Saturday morning. It was his second date with Kemi. He put the food in a basket. He took a blanket too.

ओलू ने शनिवार की सुबह सैंडविच बनाए। केमी के साथ यह उसकी दूसरी डेट थी। उसने खाना एक टोकरी में रखा। उसने एक कंबल भी ले लिया।

They met at the park at noon. The sky was blue. They sat under a big tree. Kemi smiled at him. "This is nice," she said.

वे दोपहर को पार्क में मिले। आसमान नीला था। वे एक बड़े पेड़ के नीचे बैठ गए। केमी उसे देखकर मुस्कुराई। "यह बहुत अच्छा है," उसने कहा।

Olu opened the basket. He had cheese sandwiches and two apples. He also had a bottle of juice. Kemi took a sandwich and ate it. "It is very good," she said.

ओलू ने टोकरी खोली। उसमें चीज़ वाले सैंडविच और दो सेब थे। उसमें जूस की एक बोतल भी थी। केमी ने एक सैंडविच लिया और खाया। "यह बहुत बढ़िया है," उसने कहा।

Then a drop fell on his hand. Another drop fell on the blanket. Dark clouds came over the park.

तभी उसके हाथ पर एक बूँद गिरी। एक और बूँद कंबल पर गिरी। पार्क के ऊपर काले बादल छा गए।

The rain came fast. "Run!" Kemi said. They took the basket and the blanket. They ran to Olu's car. Both of them were wet. They laughed all the way.

बारिश तेज़ी से आई। "भागो!" केमी ने कहा। उन्होंने टोकरी और कंबल उठाए। वे ओलू की कार की ओर दौड़े। दोनों भीग गए थे। वे पूरे रास्ते हँसते रहे।

They sat in the car and shut the doors. Olu gave Kemi her sandwich again. The rain hit the roof. It sounded like small drums.

वे कार में बैठे और दरवाज़े बंद कर लिए। ओलू ने केमी को उसका सैंडविच फिर से दिया। बारिश छत पर पड़ रही थी। वह छोटे-छोटे ढोलों जैसी आवाज़ कर रही थी।

They ate and listened. The park was grey outside. Kemi looked at the window for a long time.

उन्होंने खाया और सुना। बाहर पार्क धूसर था। केमी बहुत देर तक खिड़की के बाहर देखती रही।

"Is this a bad date?" Olu asked.

"क्या यह बुरी डेट है?" ओलू ने पूछा।

Kemi bit her sandwich and smiled. "No," she said. "Best picnic ever. Same car next week?"

केमी ने सैंडविच का टुकड़ा काटा और मुस्कुराई। "नहीं," उसने कहा। "अब तक का सबसे अच्छा पिकनिक। अगले हफ़्ते भी यही कार?"
