The Rainy Picnic

Ruby and Milo plan a picnic in the park on Saturday. They pack sandwiches, fruit, and cold drinks in a basket. The sky is blue when they leave home.

रूबी और माइलो शनिवार को पार्क में पिकनिक की योजना बनाते हैं। वे एक टोकरी में सैंडविच, फल और ठंडे पेय पैक करते हैं। जब वे घर से निकलते हैं, तो आसमान नीला है।

They spread a blanket under a big tree. They set out the food and sit down to eat. After a few minutes, the sky turns gray.

वे एक बड़े पेड़ के नीचे दरी बिछाते हैं। वे खाना सजाकर खाने बैठ जाते हैं। कुछ मिनट बाद आसमान स्लेटी हो जाता है।

"I think it's going to rain," Milo says. He looks up at the dark clouds.

"Let's wait a little," Ruby says. "Maybe it will pass."

"थोड़ा रुककर देखते हैं," रूबी कहती है। "शायद यह निकल जाए।"

But the rain starts fast. Big drops fall on their sandwiches. The wind pushes their napkins across the grass.

लेकिन बारिश तेज़ी से शुरू हो जाती है। बड़ी-बड़ी बूँदें उनके सैंडविचों पर गिरती हैं। हवा उनके नैपकिन घास पर उड़ा ले जाती है।

"We need a new plan," Ruby says. She grabs the basket and the blanket. "Let's go to my house. It's close by."

"हमें नई योजना चाहिए," रूबी कहती है। वह टोकरी और दरी उठा लेती है। "चलो मेरे घर चलते हैं। वह पास ही है।"

They run through the rain and laugh at the puddles. By the time they reach the house, they are both very wet.

Ruby's mother opens the door. "Come in, come in!" she says. "Look at you two!"

रूबी की माँ दरवाज़ा खोलती हैं। "आओ, आओ, अंदर आओ!" वे कहती हैं। "तुम दोनों की तो हालत देखो!"

They dry off with towels. Then they spread the blanket on the living room floor. Ruby turns on some music, and Milo opens the basket again.

वे तौलियों से अपने आपको सुखाते हैं। फिर वे बैठक के फ़र्श पर दरी बिछा देते हैं। रूबी कुछ संगीत चला देती है, और माइलो टोकरी फिर से खोल देता है।

"This isn't so bad," Milo says, biting into a sandwich.

Ruby laughs and looks out the window at the rain. "We still have a picnic," she says. "Just an indoor one now."

रूबी हँसती है और खिड़की से बारिश को देखती है। "हमारी पिकनिक तो फिर भी हो रही है," वह कहती है। "बस अब वह घर के अंदर है।"

They eat, talk, and watch the rain fall against the glass. Outside, the storm continues, but inside, they finish their picnic together.

वे खाते हैं, बातें करते हैं और शीशे पर गिरती बारिश को देखते हैं। बाहर तूफ़ान जारी है, लेकिन अंदर वे साथ मिलकर अपनी पिकनिक पूरी करते हैं।
