The Changed Gate Number

Soraya waits at the airport for her flight. She checks the screen above the gates. Her gate number changes from twelve to twenty.

सोराया एयरपोर्ट पर अपनी फ़्लाइट का इंतज़ार कर रही है। वह गेटों के ऊपर लगी स्क्रीन देखती है। उसका गेट नंबर बारह से बदलकर बीस हो गया है।

She looks around the gate area. A man sits asleep in a chair nearby. His ticket shows the old gate number, twelve.

वह गेट के आसपास नज़र दौड़ाती है। पास की एक कुर्सी पर एक आदमी सो रहा है। उसके टिकट पर पुराना गेट नंबर, बारह, लिखा है।

Soraya walks over and taps his shoulder gently. "Excuse me, sir," she says.

सोराया उसके पास जाती है और धीरे से उसके कंधे को थपथपाती है। "सुनिए, सर," वह कहती है।

Otto opens his eyes and looks up. "Your gate changed," Soraya says. "It's twenty now."

ओटो आँखें खोलकर ऊपर देखता है। "आपका गेट बदल गया है," सोराया कहती है। "अब वह बीस है।"

Otto looks at his ticket, then at the screen. "Oh no, thank you," he says, and stands up fast.

ओटो अपना टिकट देखता है, फिर स्क्रीन। "अरे नहीं, धन्यवाद," वह कहता है और जल्दी से खड़ा हो जाता है।

He grabs his bag and his cane. "I almost missed my flight," he says.

वह अपना बैग और छड़ी उठा लेता है। "मेरी फ़्लाइट तो छूटने ही वाली थी," वह कहता है।

They walk together toward the new gate. Soraya carries his small bag for him.

वे साथ-साथ नए गेट की ओर चलते हैं। सोराया उसका छोटा बैग उसके लिए उठा लेती है।

"You saved me today," Otto says with a smile.

"आज आपने मुझे बचा लिया," ओटो मुस्कुराकर कहता है।

"I just have good eyes," Soraya says, and laughs.

"मेरी नज़र बस अच्छी है," सोराया कहती है और हँस पड़ती है।

They reach gate twenty. Boarding starts right away. Otto shakes her hand and gets in line.

वे गेट बीस पर पहुँच जाते हैं। बोर्डिंग तुरंत शुरू हो जाती है। ओटो उससे हाथ मिलाता है और लाइन में लग जाता है।

"Safe travels," Soraya says, and waves goodbye.

"सुरक्षित यात्रा हो," सोराया कहती है और हाथ हिलाकर अलविदा कहती है।
