Freya found a hole in her backyard fence. One board fell off during a storm. She thought it was a small job.
फ़्रेया को अपने पिछवाड़े की बाड़ में एक छेद दिखा। तूफ़ान के दौरान एक तख़्ता गिर गया था। उसने सोचा कि यह छोटा-सा काम है।
She went to the garage for a hammer. She found some nails in an old box. But she had no extra wood board.
वह हथौड़ी लेने गैराज गई। उसे एक पुराने डिब्बे में कुछ कीलें मिल गईं। लेकिन उसके पास लकड़ी का कोई फ़ालतू तख़्ता नहीं था।
Freya drove to the hardware store nearby. She walked up and down the wood aisle. She bought one new wooden board.
फ़्रेया गाड़ी चलाकर पास की हार्डवेयर की दुकान पर गई। वह लकड़ी वाली क़तार में आगे-पीछे घूमी। उसने एक नया लकड़ी का तख़्ता ख़रीदा।
She also bought a small can of paint. The clerk gave her a few extra nails. Freya thanked him and headed home.
उसने पेंट का एक छोटा डिब्बा भी ख़रीदा। दुकान के कर्मचारी ने उसे कुछ अतिरिक्त कीलें दे दीं। फ़्रेया ने उसे धन्यवाद दिया और घर की ओर चल दी।
Back home, she measured the broken space. The new board was a little too big. She needed to cut it down first.
घर लौटकर उसने टूटी हुई जगह को नापा। नया तख़्ता थोड़ा बड़ा निकला। पहले उसे काटकर छोटा करना था।
She borrowed a saw from her neighbor. She cut the board carefully outside. Sawdust covered her hands and the ground.
उसने अपने पड़ोसी से आरी उधार ली। उसने बाहर तख़्ते को सावधानी से काटा। उसके हाथों पर और ज़मीन पर बुरादा फैल गया।
Freya nailed the new board into place. She stepped back and checked her work. The fence looked solid and complete again.
फ़्रेया ने नया तख़्ता अपनी जगह पर ठोक दिया। वह पीछे हटी और अपना काम जाँचा। बाड़ फिर से मज़बूत और पूरी दिख रही थी।
She opened a can of white paint. She painted the new board carefully. It matched the rest of the fence perfectly.
उसने सफ़ेद पेंट का डिब्बा खोला। उसने नए तख़्ते को ध्यान से रंगा। वह बाक़ी बाड़ से बिल्कुल मेल खाता था।
Freya stood back and admired the fence. Her small job took the whole day. She felt proud of her hard work.
