Selin carries a tall stack of books down the office stairs. On the fourth step, the stack slips. Books fall in every direction.
सेलिन किताबों का एक ऊँचा ढेर लेकर ऑफ़िस की सीढ़ियों से नीचे उतर रही है। चौथी सीढ़ी पर ढेर फिसल जाता है। किताबें हर दिशा में गिर जाती हैं।
"Oh no," she says, and kneels down to gather them.
"ओह नहीं," वह कहती है और उन्हें समेटने के लिए घुटनों के बल बैठ जाती है।
A man on the stairs below stops and turns around. "Let me help," he says. He picks up three books and hands them back to her.
नीचे की सीढ़ियों पर खड़ा एक आदमी रुककर मुड़ता है। "मैं मदद करता हूँ," वह कहता है। वह तीन किताबें उठाकर उसे लौटा देता है।
"Thank you," Selin says. "I always carry too many at once."

"I do the same with coffee cups," he says. "My name is Gabriel."

"Selin," she says. "I work on the third floor."
"सेलिन," वह कहती है। "मैं तीसरी मंज़िल पर काम करती हूँ।"
"I'm on the fifth," Gabriel says. "I never come down this way. But today I took the stairs instead."
"मैं पाँचवीं पर हूँ," गैब्रियल कहता है। "मैं इस तरफ़ से कभी नहीं आता। पर आज मैंने लिफ़्ट की जगह सीढ़ियाँ ले लीं।"
They carry the books together to Selin's office door.
वे साथ मिलकर किताबें सेलिन के ऑफ़िस के दरवाज़े तक ले जाते हैं।
"Thanks again," she says. "You saved me a lot of time."
"एक बार फिर शुक्रिया," वह कहती है। "आपने मेरा बहुत समय बचा दिया।"
"Anytime," Gabriel says. He starts to walk back toward the stairs, then stops. "Maybe I'll start taking the stairs every day," he says.

The next week, Selin sees Gabriel on the stairs again. This time, he carries his own stack of papers. She smiles and holds the door open for him.

"Let's start a stair club," she jokes.
"चलो, एक सीढ़ी क्लब बनाते हैं," वह मज़ाक़ में कहती है।
Gabriel laughs. "I'm in," he says, and they walk down together.
गैब्रियल हँसता है। "मैं तैयार हूँ," वह कहता है, और वे साथ-साथ नीचे उतरते हैं।
