Zainab's family has one very old recipe card. It has her great-grandmother's bread recipe on it. They use it only on special days.
Today is a special family lunch. Zainab looks in the recipe box for the card. The card is not in its usual place.
She looks through every kitchen drawer. She checks the counter and the shelf. No one can find the old card.
Zainab feels a wave of worry. Lunch is only one hour away. The bread cannot happen without the card.
She asks her family members for help. Her father checks the living room shelves. Her mother checks the boxes in the hallway.
Her little brother remembers something important. "Mom had it in the living room," he says. Zainab runs to the living room quickly.
She looks inside an old cookbook on the shelf. The recipe card sits between two pages. Her mother used it as a bookmark by mistake.
Zainab feels a rush of relief. She holds the old card carefully. She brings it to the kitchen right away.
The family makes the special bread together. The kitchen fills with a familiar smell. Everyone gathers around the table happily.
