Tariq walks into a bike shop near the beach. "I want to rent a bike, please," he says. The man behind the counter nods and picks a bike.
Tariq entra numa loja de bicicletas perto da praia. "Eu queria alugar uma bicicleta, por favor", ele diz. O homem atrás do balcão faz que sim com a cabeça e escolhe uma bicicleta.
Tariq takes the bike outside and gets on. His knees hit the handlebars with every turn. The seat is too high for him.
Tariq leva a bicicleta para fora e sobe nela. Os joelhos dele batem no guidão a cada curva. O banco é alto demais para ele.
Tariq rides in a slow circle and almost falls. A woman on the sidewalk laughs and points.
Tariq pedala devagar em círculo e quase cai. Uma mulher na calçada ri e aponta.
Tariq stops and looks down at the bike. "This bike is too big for me," he says.
Tariq para e olha para a bicicleta. "Essa bicicleta é grande demais para mim", ele diz.
He walks the bike back into the shop. "Sorry, this bike is too big," Tariq says. "Do you have a small one?" he asks.
Ele leva a bicicleta de volta para a loja, empurrando-a. "Desculpe, essa bicicleta é grande demais", diz Tariq. "Você tem uma menor?", ele pergunta.
"Of course, my mistake," the man says. He brings out a small blue bike from the back.
"Claro, foi engano meu", diz o homem. Ele traz uma bicicleta azul pequena lá de trás.
Tariq sits on the new bike and smiles. His feet touch the ground now. "This one is perfect," Tariq says.
Tariq senta na bicicleta nova e sorri. Agora os pés dele tocam o chão. "Esta é perfeita", diz Tariq.
He rides out of the shop and down the road. The wind feels cool against his face.

He turns toward the long path by the water. Boats sit quietly near the old wooden dock.

Tariq rides past them and waves at two fishermen. He rides all the way to the lighthouse and back.
Tariq passa por eles pedalando e acena para dois pescadores. Ele pedala até o farol e volta.
