Pablo's family plans a big holiday dinner soon. His grandmother wants to make her old stew. His mother wants to try a new dish.
La familia de Pablo planea una gran cena para las fiestas. Su abuela quiere preparar su viejo guiso. Su madre quiere probar un platillo nuevo.
They ask Pablo to help decide. "Which one do you like more?" his mother asks. Pablo does not want to upset anyone.

He walks between the kitchen and the stove. Both smells fill the whole house. He cannot pick a favorite by smell alone.

He tastes his grandmother's stew first. It reminds him of every holiday before. Warm and familiar, just like always.
