The Last Locker on the Left

Emmanuel and Lucia are both assigned the same locker number on their first day, and the school office sorts out the mistake.
Emmanuel gets his locker assignment on the first day. His paper says locker 114, last row. He finds the hallway and looks around.
He sees a lock already on locker 114. Someone put a blue lock on it. Emmanuel checks his paper again.
Lucia arrives at the same locker a minute later. Her paper also says locker 114. She sees Emmanuel at the locker.
"This is my locker," Lucia says. "It says right here on my paper." She holds up her assignment sheet.
"That's strange," Emmanuel says. "My paper says the exact same number." He holds up his own sheet.
They both look at the numbers closely. The office printed two papers with the same locker. Somebody made a small mistake somewhere.
"Let's go ask the office together," Lucia says. Emmanuel nods and follows her down the hall.
The office secretary checks her computer screen. "You're both new students," she says. "The system doubled one number by accident."
She gives Emmanuel a new locker across the hall. Lucia keeps locker 114 as planned.
"See you around," Lucia says with a laugh. Emmanuel waves and walks to his new locker.
