Choosing a Birthday Cake Flavor

Wesley must choose between two cake flavors for his best friend's birthday and finds a clever way to please everyone.
Wesley wanted to buy a cake for Brooke's birthday. Brooke was his best friend at school. Her party was the next afternoon. Wesley went to the bakery with his sister Greta. The bakery had many cakes in the window.
Two cakes looked perfect for the party. One cake was chocolate with pink flowers. The other cake was lemon with white frosting. Wesley liked chocolate cake very much. Brooke loved lemon cake even more.
"Which one do we pick?" Greta asked. Wesley thought about his friend Brooke. "Brooke always orders lemon cake at restaurants," he said. "Then lemon is a good choice," Greta said. Wesley still looked at the chocolate cake.
He wanted to try something new too. Then he had an idea. "Can we buy two small cakes?" he asked the baker. The baker smiled and nodded her head. "Of course. Small cakes are easy to make," she said.
Wesley paid for both small cakes. He carried the box home carefully. The next day, he brought both cakes to the party. Brooke opened the box and gasped. "Two flavors? Now I don't have to choose!" she said. Everyone laughed and had a slice of each cake.
