Every evening, Soraya walks her dog to the park. The park is near her building. Around six o'clock, another dog always runs straight to play with hers. The dog's owner is a young man named Dash.
Toda noite, Soraya leva a cadela dela para passear no parque. O parque fica perto do prédio dela. Por volta das seis horas, outro cachorro sempre corre direto para brincar com a dela. O dono do cachorro é um jovem chamado Dash.
Soraya and Dash never really talk. They just wave and watch their dogs play together every evening.
Soraya e Dash nunca conversam de verdade. Eles só acenam e ficam observando os cachorros brincarem juntos toda noite.
One evening, it is time to leave. Both owners clip leashes onto their dogs in the dark. Soraya picks up the wrong leash by mistake.
Uma noite, chega a hora de ir embora. Os dois donos prendem as coleiras nos cachorros no escuro. Soraya pega a coleira errada por engano.
She notices only when the dog beside her stops and sits down. "Wait," Dash calls out. "I think that's my dog's leash." Soraya looks down, confused.
Ela só percebe quando o cachorro ao lado dela para e senta. "Espera", Dash grita. "Acho que essa é a coleira do meu cachorro." Soraya olha para baixo, confusa.
She sees a different color leash in her hand. "Oh no, you're right," she says, laughing. "I'm so sorry about that."
Ela vê uma coleira de cor diferente na mão. "Ah, não, você tem razão", ela diz, rindo. "Desculpa por isso."
They switch leashes and laugh about the mix-up. "Well, now we actually know each other," Dash says.
Eles trocam as coleiras e riem da confusão. "Bom, agora a gente realmente se conhece", diz Dash.
"I'm Soraya," she says, holding out her hand. "I'm Dash," he says, shaking it with a smile.
"Eu sou a Soraya", ela diz, estendendo a mão. "Eu sou o Dash", ele diz, apertando a mão dela com um sorriso.
From that evening, they walk to the park together every day. Their dogs still run ahead of them, just like before.
A partir daquela noite, eles caminham juntos até o parque todo dia. Os cachorros deles ainda correm à frente, assim como antes.
