The Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt

Mai and Duc join the neighborhood scavenger hunt. Every team gets a list of clues. The first clue is easy to solve.

Mai dan Duc ikut perburuan harta karun di lingkungan mereka. Setiap tim mendapat daftar petunjuk. Petunjuk pertama mudah dipecahkan.

"Find the red bench near the school," Mai reads. They find the bench and grab the next card.

"Temukan bangku merah dekat sekolah," baca Mai. Mereka menemukan bangku itu dan mengambil kartu berikutnya.

The next clue says, "Look where water meets stone."

Petunjuk berikutnya berbunyi, "Carilah tempat air bertemu batu."

Duc thinks about the old stone fountain downtown. Mai thinks about the small pond near the garden. Two places seem to match the same clue.

Duc memikirkan air mancur batu tua di pusat kota. Mai memikirkan kolam kecil dekat taman. Dua tempat tampak cocok dengan petunjuk yang sama.

"We only have time for one place," Duc says. "We need to pick carefully," Mai says.

"Kita hanya punya waktu untuk satu tempat," kata Duc. "Kita harus memilih dengan hati-hati," kata Mai.

They read the clue again, word by word. "Water meets stone," Mai repeats slowly. "A fountain has water hitting stone every second." "A pond just sits still and quiet."

Mereka membaca petunjuk itu lagi, kata demi kata. "Air bertemu batu," ulang Mai pelan-pelan. "Air mancur punya air yang menghantam batu setiap detik." "Kolam hanya diam dan tenang."

"The fountain fits the clue," Duc says. "Let's run there right now," Mai says.

"Air mancur cocok dengan petunjuknya," kata Duc. "Ayo lari ke sana sekarang juga," kata Mai.

They race toward the old stone fountain. A small card waits taped to its edge.

Mereka berlomba menuju air mancur batu tua itu. Sebuah kartu kecil menunggu, direkatkan di tepinya.

Duc grabs it and reads it fast. "Congratulations! Your team solved every clue," it says. "Your prize is the rooftop garden picnic."

Duc menyambarnya dan membacanya cepat-cepat. "Selamat! Tim kalian memecahkan semua petunjuk," bunyinya. "Hadiah kalian adalah piknik di kebun atap."

Mai claps her hands together with joy. "Our choice was the right one," she says.

Mai bertepuk tangan dengan gembira. "Pilihan kita benar," katanya.

They run toward the community center together. A small picnic waits for them on the roof. Sandwiches, juice, and a shiny gold ribbon sit ready.

Mereka berlari bersama menuju balai warga. Sebuah piknik kecil menunggu mereka di atap. Roti lapis, jus, dan pita emas yang berkilau sudah siap.

Duc picks up the ribbon and smiles. "Great team choice today," he says.

Duc mengambil pita itu dan tersenyum. "Pilihan tim yang hebat hari ini," katanya.
