The Identical Suitcases

Kaito waits by the baggage carousel at the airport. He looks for his black suitcase with a red tag.

Kaito menunggu di dekat ban berjalan bagasi di bandara. Ia mencari kopernya yang hitam dengan label merah.

A black suitcase comes around the belt. Kaito grabs it and checks the tag. It looks just like his.

Sebuah koper hitam muncul di ban berjalan. Kaito mengambilnya dan memeriksa labelnya. Koper itu mirip sekali dengan miliknya.

He walks outside and calls a taxi. At home, he opens the suitcase and stops. "This isn't my stuff," he says.

Ia berjalan keluar dan memanggil taksi. Di rumah, ia membuka koper itu dan terdiam. "Ini bukan barang-barangku," katanya.

Inside, he finds a woman's clothes and a pair of hiking boots. There is also a book about birds.

Di dalamnya, ia menemukan pakaian wanita dan sepasang sepatu bot untuk mendaki. Ada juga sebuah buku tentang burung.

He looks at the tag again. The name says "Hollis," not his name. He calls the airport right away.

Ia melihat label itu lagi. Nama di sana tertulis "Hollis", bukan namanya. Ia langsung menelepon bandara.

At the same time, Hollis stands at the same baggage carousel. She holds a suitcase full of Kaito's shirts and shoes.

Pada saat yang sama, Hollis berdiri di ban berjalan bagasi yang sama. Ia memegang koper yang penuh dengan kemeja dan sepatu milik Kaito.

"This suitcase has men's clothes in it," she tells the airport worker. "I need to find the owner."

"Koper ini berisi pakaian pria," katanya kepada petugas bandara. "Saya harus menemukan pemiliknya."

The worker checks the tags and finds Kaito's number. Hollis calls him. They agree to meet at a café near the airport.

Petugas itu memeriksa label dan menemukan nomor telepon Kaito. Hollis meneleponnya. Mereka sepakat bertemu di sebuah kafe dekat bandara.

"I'm so sorry about this," Kaito says when they meet. "Our suitcases really do look the same."

"Maaf sekali soal ini," kata Kaito ketika mereka bertemu. "Koper kita memang mirip sekali."

Hollis laughs and points at both bags. "Black, with a red tag. That's why we mixed them up."

Hollis tertawa dan menunjuk kedua koper itu. "Hitam, dengan label merah. Itu sebabnya kita tertukar."

They trade suitcases and shake hands. "Next time, I'm buying a bag with stripes," Kaito says. Hollis laughs and agrees.

Mereka bertukar koper dan berjabat tangan. "Lain kali, aku akan membeli koper bergaris-garis," kata Kaito. Hollis tertawa dan setuju.
