Anton stands at the front of his classroom. Today is his big presentation day. He plugs in the projector and waits.
एंटन अपनी कक्षा के आगे खड़ा है। आज उसकी बड़ी प्रेज़ेंटेशन का दिन है। वह प्रोजेक्टर लगाता है और इंतज़ार करता है।
He practiced his presentation at home last night. His little sister listened and clapped for him. He felt ready for the big day.
कल रात उसने घर पर अपनी प्रेज़ेंटेशन का अभ्यास किया था। उसकी छोटी बहन ने सुना और उसके लिए तालियाँ बजाईं। वह इस बड़े दिन के लिए तैयार महसूस कर रहा था।
The screen stays black. He tries the cable again. Nothing happens.
स्क्रीन काली ही रहती है। वह केबल को फिर से लगाकर देखता है। कुछ नहीं होता।
His teacher checks the projector too. "It's broken," she says. "Sorry, Anton."
उसकी टीचर भी प्रोजेक्टर देखती हैं। "यह ख़राब है," वे कहती हैं। "माफ़ करना, एंटन।"
Anton looks at his notes. He has ten slides about ocean animals. He takes a deep breath.
एंटन अपने नोट्स देखता है। उसके पास समुद्री जानवरों पर दस स्लाइड हैं। वह एक गहरी साँस लेता है।
He picks up a marker instead. He walks to the whiteboard. He draws a simple picture of a whale.
वह इसके बजाय एक मार्कर उठा लेता है। वह व्हाइटबोर्ड की ओर जाता है। वह एक व्हेल की सीधी-सादी तस्वीर बनाता है।
He writes three big facts under it. "I can still show you my project," he says.
वह उसके नीचे तीन बड़े तथ्य लिखता है। "मैं अब भी आपको अपना प्रोजेक्ट दिखा सकता हूँ," वह कहता है।
His classmates lean forward. They watch him draw a shark next. He explains each fact out loud.

Anton finishes his last drawing right before the bell. "Great job," his teacher says. "You didn't need slides at all."

Anton smiles and cleans the marker off his hands. He puts his notes back in his bag.
