Sam and his friend Dana want to meet for dinner on Friday. Sam sends Dana a text. "Let's meet at the usual place, around seven," he writes.
सैम और उसकी दोस्त डैना शुक्रवार को डिनर पर मिलना चाहते हैं। सैम डैना को एक मैसेज भेजता है। "चलो हमेशा वाली जगह पर मिलते हैं, सात बजे के आसपास," वह लिखता है।
Dana texts back quickly. "Sounds good! See you there."

Sam smiles at his phone, but then he stops. He and Dana have two usual places. One is a small pizza shop. The other is a noodle restaurant. They both call each spot "the usual place."
सैम अपने फ़ोन को देखकर मुस्कुराता है, लेकिन फिर रुक जाता है। उसकी और डैना की दो हमेशा वाली जगहें हैं। एक छोटी-सी पिज़्ज़ा की दुकान है। दूसरा नूडल्स का रेस्तराँ है। वे दोनों जगहों को "हमेशा वाली जगह" ही कहते हैं।
Sam sends another text. "Wait, which usual place do you mean? Pizza or noodles?"
सैम एक और मैसेज भेजता है। "रुको, तुम कौन-सी हमेशा वाली जगह की बात कर रही हो? पिज़्ज़ा या नूडल्स?"
He waits for an answer. Ten minutes pass. Then twenty. Dana does not reply.
वह जवाब का इंतज़ार करता है। दस मिनट बीत जाते हैं। फिर बीस। डैना जवाब नहीं देती।
Sam checks his phone again and again. There is still no new message. He needs to decide soon, or he will be late.
सैम बार-बार अपना फ़ोन देखता है। अब भी कोई नया मैसेज नहीं है। उसे जल्दी फ़ैसला करना है, वरना वह देर से पहुँचेगा।
He thinks about the last few times they met. Dana ordered noodles both times. So Sam guesses she wants noodles again.
वह सोचता है कि पिछली कुछ बार जब वे मिले थे, तब क्या हुआ था। दोनों बार डैना ने नूडल्स मँगवाए थे। इसलिए सैम अंदाज़ा लगाता है कि वह इस बार भी नूडल्स चाहती होगी।
At seven o'clock, Sam walks into the noodle restaurant. He looks around the room, but he does not see Dana.
सात बजे सैम नूडल्स के रेस्तराँ में जाता है। वह कमरे में चारों ओर देखता है, लेकिन उसे डैना नहीं दिखती।
He waits by the door for a few minutes. His phone stays quiet. He starts to worry that he guessed wrong.
वह कुछ मिनट दरवाज़े के पास इंतज़ार करता है। उसका फ़ोन शांत रहता है। उसे चिंता होने लगती है कि कहीं उसका अंदाज़ा ग़लत तो नहीं निकला।
Then the door opens, and Dana walks in with a big smile.
तभी दरवाज़ा खुलता है, और डैना बड़ी मुस्कान के साथ अंदर आती है।
"Sorry, my phone died earlier!" she says. "I just charged it at work."
"माफ़ करना, मेरा फ़ोन पहले बंद हो गया था!" वह कहती है। "मैंने इसे अभी ऑफ़िस में चार्ज किया।"
"That's okay," Sam says. "I guessed noodles, and here you are!"
"कोई बात नहीं," सैम कहता है। "मैंने नूडल्स का अंदाज़ा लगाया था, और तुम यहीं हो!"
They both laugh and walk to a table by the window.
दोनों हँस पड़ते हैं और खिड़की के पास की एक मेज़ की ओर चल देते हैं।
"Let's order," Dana says, picking up a menu.
