The Report in the Recycling Bin

Ines works as an intern at a busy office. Her job today is simple: sort old files for recycling.

Ines trabaja como pasante en una oficina muy activa. Su tarea de hoy es sencilla: clasificar archivos viejos para reciclarlos.

She empties one folder into a big bin. Papers, forms, and old notes fall inside. She grabs the next folder.

Vacía una carpeta en un bote grande. Papeles, formularios y notas viejas caen dentro. Toma la siguiente carpeta.

Something catches her eye in the bin. It is a form with a manager's signature line. The line is empty.

Algo le llama la atención en el bote. Es un formulario con una línea de firma para el gerente. La línea está vacía.

Ines picks the form back up. She reads the top of the page. It says "Vendor Contract - Needs Signature."

Ines recoge el formulario. Lee la parte de arriba de la página. Dice: «Contrato con proveedor - Necesita firma».

She checks the date on the form. The contract ends this Friday. Nobody signed it yet.

Revisa la fecha del formulario. El contrato termina este viernes. Nadie lo ha firmado todavía.

Ines walks to her manager's desk. "I found this in the recycling," she says. "It still needs a signature."

Ines camina hasta el escritorio de su gerente. «Encontré esto en el reciclaje», dice. «Todavía necesita una firma».

Her manager looks at the paper. His face changes fast. "This is important," he says. "Thank you for checking."

He signs the form right away. He sends it to the vendor before lunch.

"Good catch, Ines," he says. "That was almost a big problem."

Ines returns to her desk. She checks every folder carefully after that.
