Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time there was a little girl who lived near a great forest. Her grandmother had made her a red hooded cloak, and she wore it so often that everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.

从前，在一片大森林附近住着一个小女孩。她的祖母给她做了一件带帽子的红斗篷，她常常穿着它，所以大家都叫她小红帽。

One morning her mother said, "Take this basket of bread and butter to your grandmother, for she is not well. Walk straight there, and do not wander from the path."

一天早上，妈妈对她说：“把这篮子面包和黄油送给你奶奶，她身体不舒服。要一直走大路，不要离开小路乱跑。”

On the way, Little Red Riding Hood met a Wolf. The Wolf asked where she was going, and, not knowing what a wicked creature he was, she told him about her sick grandmother.

路上，小红帽遇到了一只狼。狼问她要去哪里，她不知道这是一只多么凶恶的野兽，就把生病的奶奶的事告诉了它。

The Wolf ran ahead by a shorter road. He reached the cottage first, slipped inside, and waited in the old woman's bed.

狼抄近路先跑了过去。它先到了小屋，溜了进去，躲在老奶奶的床上等着。

When Little Red Riding Hood arrived, she thought her grandmother looked very strange. "What big eyes you have!" she said. "All the better to see you with," said the Wolf. "What big teeth you have!" "All the better to eat you with!"

小红帽到达时，觉得奶奶看起来非常古怪。“你的眼睛怎么这么大！”她说。“这样才能看清你呀，”狼说。“你的牙齿怎么这么大！”“这样才能吃掉你呀！”

But her cry was heard by a woodcutter passing nearby. He rushed in with his axe and drove the Wolf away, and grandmother and child were safe.

但她的呼救声被附近路过的一个樵夫听到了。他拿着斧头冲了进来，把狼赶走了，奶奶和孩子都安全了。

Always keep to the path, and never talk to strangers.

一定要走在大路上，永远不要和陌生人说话。
