The Farewell Gathering

Tavi planned to move to a new city soon. Her friends wanted to say goodbye properly. Two different groups planned two different parties.

Tavi akan segera pindah ke kota baru. Teman-temannya ingin mengucapkan selamat tinggal dengan layak. Dua kelompok yang berbeda merencanakan dua pesta yang berbeda.

Ilse and the soccer team planned a picnic. Wynn and the art club planned a quiet café dinner. Both parties landed on the same Saturday.

Ilse dan tim sepak bola merencanakan piknik. Wynn dan klub seni merencanakan makan malam tenang di kafe. Kedua pesta itu jatuh pada hari Sabtu yang sama.

Tavi loved both groups equally. She played soccer with Ilse for six years. She painted next to Wynn every week this year.

Tavi menyayangi kedua kelompok itu sama besar. Ia bermain sepak bola bersama Ilse selama enam tahun. Ia melukis di samping Wynn setiap minggu sepanjang tahun ini.

She called Ilse first. "I want to come to the picnic," Tavi said. "But Wynn planned something for the same day."

Ia menelepon Ilse lebih dulu. "Aku ingin datang ke piknik," kata Tavi. "Tapi Wynn merencanakan sesuatu di hari yang sama."

Ilse laughed. "Wynn already told me," she said. "Come to us in the afternoon. Go to them after."

Ilse tertawa. "Wynn sudah memberi tahu aku," katanya. "Datanglah ke tempat kami sore hari. Setelah itu pergi ke tempat mereka."

Tavi liked that idea a lot. She called Wynn and explained the new plan. Wynn agreed right away. She just wanted to see Tavi.

Tavi sangat suka ide itu. Ia menelepon Wynn dan menjelaskan rencana barunya. Wynn langsung setuju. Ia hanya ingin bertemu Tavi.

On Saturday, Tavi spent the afternoon at the picnic. The soccer team played one last game together. Tavi scored the final goal of the day.

Pada hari Sabtu, Tavi menghabiskan sore di piknik. Tim sepak bola memainkan satu pertandingan terakhir bersama. Tavi mencetak gol terakhir hari itu.

At six o'clock, she said goodbye to the team. She walked straight to the small café down the street. Wynn already had a seat saved for her.

Pukul enam, ia berpamitan kepada tim. Ia berjalan langsung ke kafe kecil di ujung jalan. Wynn sudah menyimpan tempat duduk untuknya.

The art club gave her a card. It held all their drawings. Tavi opened it slowly at the table. Every page held a small piece of the year.

Klub seni memberinya sebuah kartu. Isinya semua gambar mereka. Tavi membukanya perlahan di meja. Setiap halaman memuat kepingan kecil dari tahun itu.

She hugged Wynn and looked around the table. "Two parties, one really good day," she said. She promised to send pictures from her new city.

Ia memeluk Wynn dan memandang sekeliling meja. "Dua pesta, satu hari yang benar-benar indah," katanya. Ia berjanji akan mengirim foto dari kota barunya.
