A Dog, to whom the butcher had thrown a bone, was hurrying home with his prize as fast as he could go.
एक कुत्ता, जिसे कसाई ने एक हड्डी फेंक कर दी थी, जितनी तेज़ी से हो सके अपना इनाम लेकर घर की ओर जल्दी-जल्दी जा रहा था।
As he crossed a narrow bridge, he looked down and saw himself reflected in the quiet water below. Thinking it was another dog with another bone, he made up his mind to have that one also.
जैसे ही उसने एक संकरा पुल पार किया, उसने नीचे देखा और शांत पानी में खुद का प्रतिबिंब देखा। यह सोचकर कि वह कोई दूसरा कुत्ता है जिसके पास एक और हड्डी है, उसने उसे भी हासिल करने का मन बना लिया।
So he snapped greedily at the reflection. But as he opened his mouth, his own bone fell out, dropped into the water, and was never seen again.
