The Crow and the Pitcher

A thirsty crow finds a pitcher of water she can't reach — its neck too narrow for her beak — and must think of a clever trick to save herself.
In a spell of dry weather, when the birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it.
सूखे मौसम के एक दौर में, जब पक्षियों को पीने के लिए बहुत कम पानी मिल पा रहा था, एक प्यासे कौए को पानी से थोड़ा भरा हुआ एक घड़ा मिला।
But the pitcher was tall, with a narrow neck, and try as she might, the Crow could not reach the water. The poor thing felt as if she must die of thirst.
पर घड़ा ऊँचा था, उसकी गर्दन संकरी थी, और कौआ चाहे जितनी कोशिश करे, वह पानी तक नहीं पहुँच पा रहा था। बेचारी को लगा कि वह प्यास से मर जाएगी।
Then an idea came to her. Picking up some small pebbles, she dropped them one by one, with her bill, into the pitcher.
तभी उसे एक तरकीब सूझी। छोटे-छोटे कंकड़ उठाकर, उसने उन्हें अपनी चोंच से एक-एक करके घड़े में डालना शुरू किया।
Slowly the water rose, until at last it was near enough for her to drink.
धीरे-धीरे पानी ऊपर उठने लगा, यहाँ तक कि आख़िरकार वह इतना ऊपर आ गया कि वह उसे पी सके।
Little by little does the trick.
थोड़ा-थोड़ा करके ही काम बनता है।
